Ballintogher Traditional Music Festival 2026
The 28th Annual Ballintogher Traditional Music Festival takes place from Friday 18th to Sunday 27th September 2026, with a wonderful programme of traditional music, song, dance, storytelling and community events in Ballintogher, Co. Sligo.
This year’s festival commemorates the late flute player John Egan and is organised by Craobh Loch Gile CCE.
Friday 18th September – Opening Session & Rambling House Night
The festival opens at 8.00pm in the Enterprise Centre, Ballintogher, F91 C2HT, with a Rambling House Night featuring music, song, dance and storytelling.
A trip down memory lane and a great start to the festival.
Sunday 20th September – Afternoon Set Céilí
From 3.00pm to 6.00pm, the Ballintogher Community Centre, F91 XW71, will host an afternoon Set Céilí with music from the Duntally Céilí Band.
Tuesday 22nd September – Gaeilge Night
At 8.00pm in Moran’s Lounge, join us for a relaxed evening celebrating the Irish language, with cúpla focal, comhrá, amhránaíocht, scéalaíocht agus craic.
Saturday 26th September – Festival Concert
One of the highlights of the festival takes place at 7.30pm in Ballintogher Community Centre, F91 XW71.
The evening will include guest speakers Attracta Brady, Uachtarán CCE, and Dara Mulvey, Cathaoirleach of Sligo County Council, followed by a traditional music concert featuring:

It promises to be a very special evening of traditional music, song and dance.
Sunday 27th September – Aifreann na Féile & John Egan Commemoration
The final day begins with Aifreann na Féile at 11.30am in Ballintogher, followed by a commemoration at the John Egan Memorial.
The programme will then continue in Moran’s Lounge with a talk on Customs & Traditions by local historian Joe McGowan.
