The North West Suite

We were delighted to have composer and musician Stephen Doherty work with the Ceol na nÓg Orchestra on a special commission — The North West Suite.

Stephen, a talented multi-instrumentalist from Foxford, plays flute, accordion, and whistles. He has toured in over 25 countries with a wide range of productions, performed regularly with The Seán Keane Band, and appeared frequently on national television and radio. A multi All-Ireland champion, Stephen has also composed an extensive repertoire of original tunes.

Over the past two years, Stephen collaborated closely with our orchestra, and The North West Suite was premiered at the Hawk’s Well Theatre in May 2025.
