Gala Concert Sat 6th Dec
🌟 Gala Concert – Innisfree: Reflections on an Enchanted Lake
Saturday 6th December 2025 · 7.00 pm · Ballintogher Community Centre
The highlight of the Orchestrating Community Festival 2025 will be the Gala Concert on Saturday 6th December— a spectacular evening of music, collaboration, and community spirit.
This year’s concert will feature the world premiere of Michael Rooney’s new composition, Innisfree: Reflections on an Enchanted Lake — an evocative suite inspired by the beauty, poetry, and timeless stillness of Lough Gill and Yeats’s Lake Isle of Innisfree.
The performance brings together some of Ireland’s most gifted musicians:
🎶 Michael Rooney (Harp & Composer)
🎹 Ryan Molloy (Piano)
🎻 Niamh Crowley (Violin)
🎵 June McCormack (Flute)
💃 Edwina Guckian (Dance)
and the Ceol na nÓg Senior and Junior Orchestras, featuring over 80 young musicians from across Sligo and beyond.
The Gala Concert captures the essence of the festival — youth and experience performing side by side, creating something new, powerful, and deeply rooted in tradition.
